UNFORTUNATELY THIS GAME RESERVE IS CLOSED
Kossan Private Game Reserve is situated 36km from Kimberley on the N8 West (old R64), in the direction of Griekwastad/Upington.
We strive to provide a place to rest, be it for a short break from the hustle and bustle of the city or just a stopover on a long journey.
Come and enjoy nature in its purest form!
Accommodation
We can accommodate 12 guests in five chalets, all with en-suite bathrooms. Four of the chalets can accommodate two people each and the fifth chalet, four people. In the interest of saving water, all chalets have showers, no baths.
The lodge has a comfortable lounge with a television, DVD player and pool table. The kitchen is also part of the lodge and is fully equipped with a stove, refrigerator, pots, cutlery and crockery.
You will find a small swimming pool on the premises and a boma/lapa where guests are welcome to relax.
Activities include:
Game drives
A choice of a morning or afternoon game drive. The morning drive departs before sunrise so guests get to watch dawn breaking over the veld. If, however, you are not an early bird, you’re welcome to arrange a late morning drive. The afternoon drive normally departs an hour and a half before sunset to allow for enough time to view game and to admire our beautiful Northern Cape sunsets.
Bushwalks
Guests can enjoy a walk in the veld accompanied by a guide if so requested. On a guided bushwalk you will learn how to identify animal tracks, try your hand at tracking animals yourself and learn more about the trees in the area.
Bird watching
We have a prolific birdlife which can be admired at one of the waterholes or whilst enjoying your game drive. The best vantage points for bird watching however is from inside the camp, be it from your chalet or by taking a stroll around the camp.
Mountain biking
We have four mountain bikes available for daily rental, but you are welcome to make use of your own mountain bike for viewing game from the saddle.
Prayer walk
We have a prayer route for those in need of some religious soul searching. The route is about 1.5 km long and has 10 prayer stations along the way. At five of these you will find a table with seating, perfect for Bible study. Three of the stations have benches whilst at two of them it is just you and Mother Nature.
