The product range of the animal feed plant entails in total 48 registered animal feed products, covering ruminants, concentrates and licks of different types for cattle, sheep and other animal, as well as monogastric feeds for poultry and pigs.
To this end, Itau Animal Feeds is well advanced to obtain ISO:22000 accreditation, incorporating also HACCP, in order to ensure consistent quality control and sustained product excellence.
The area of distribution of Itau products covers the Central and Southern Free State, Lesotho, parts of the Eastern Cape and parts of the Northern Cape.
The key value of the animal feed plant is that in tandem with the adjacent maize and wheat mills, it is capacitated to add value to various grain products produced in the central region of SA and even wider on an unprecedented scale – a phenomenon releasing a rippling spin-off effect throughout the local economy. It is leading to direct and indirect job-creation, benefiting existing suppliers and promoting new entrepreneurship.
