About Afrox:
African Oxygen Limited (Afrox) is sub-Saharan Africa’s market leader in gases and welding products. Foodfresh:
All food is subject to deterioration. From the consumer viewpoint, this means loss of flavour, loss of colour and microbial spoilage. These effects can be retarded and the shelf-life extended, in some cases almost indefinitely, by the use of a gas packaging technique known as Modified Atmosphere Packaging or MAP. MAP can be utilised on its own or together with other preservation techniques such as the Cook-Chill process.
MAP can extend product shelf life easily and economically – and without the need for vacuum packaging, artificial preservatives or freezing.
Pure Gasses
Over four decades, Afrox has gained in-depth knowledge of the exact gas needs of analytical chemists, QC Managers, metallurgists and other laboratory professionals.
To cater for the very sophisticated laboratory market, Afrox has developed a range of gases called INSTRUMENT GRADE, for use in fields such as gas chromatography, atomic absorption spectrophotometry, flame photometry, optical emmission, inductively coupled plasma and X-ray fluoresence spectrometry.
HiQ gases are contained in specially prepared and dedicated cylinders, and supplied with a certificate of compliance. Afrox offers its customers a complete technical service in the design, supply and maintenance of BASELINE and REDLINE gas reticulation systems for laboratory use. We also offer safety training on compressed gases. The names of these gases changed to BASELINE, since the laucnh of our new plant. The specification were brought in line with Linde Global specifications, and new boast the HiQ logo on each label
Handigas
Instant, effective and reliable energy.
Our Handigas (LPGas) is a mixture of butane and propane. It drives processes and products which range from those that that consume thousands of tons a week at industrial sites to those in which only a small amount of gas is used in the recreational arena.
The ability to provide effective energy to such a broad range of applications is made possible by the wide range of cylinders and storage vessels in which Afrox Handigas can be supplied.
For industrial, commercial and other large volume sites, storage may include:
Bulk storage vessels.
Dumpy tank storage vessels.
Gas cylinder manifold systems.
For the very wide range of general applications, Handigas is available in the following size cylinders:
48kg cylinders.
19kg cylinders.
9kg cylinders.
For the leisure market our gas & gears and sales centers are able to refill:
6kg Handipacks.
4,5kg domestic cylinders
3,2kg domestic cylinders, and
1,2kg domestic cylinders.
