Don’t be scared off by the scruffy look when enter the Yunkyard. Some of the regular patrons at the bar might look a bit dangerous to newcomers but they really are a very friendly bunch.
We’ve been there twice for the burgers as they have the best burger patties you can currently find in Kimberley. Not overly spiced but not bland either. Very very tasty and not compact at all. (Ons like ons burgers lekke los). The freshly made mushroom sauce is not the usual thing and might be too spicy for some people. Speak to the staff and make sure you order a sauce that will be to your taste.
Don’t expect to be fussed over by waiters. Go ask for a menu at the bar, order at the bar and when you are done go pay at the bar. If you need some salt, fetch it holler or wave.The food does take a bit long, but are worth the wait and the booze is cheap so have a couple while you do.
Highlights: Good, simple freshly prepared food at excellent prices.
