Went to Food lovers market Saturday the 3rd. We got a trolly outside, put a few things and on our way to checkout, my husband discovered that the trolley was broken. It went sideways and he had to stop pushing to prevent the groceries from tipping over.
In a frenzy, I rushed back towards the entrance, looking for a trolley. I found 3 staff members, all male, at the vegetable section, chatting. I asked if I could use one of their empty trolleys and was told to go outside to fetch one.
I was appalled by their lack of customer service, but didn’t want to make a fuss because my husband was waiting with a broken trolley.
On my way back, they were still standing at the veggie section, empty trolleys, discussing “vegetables”
The cashier mumbled a greeting, but was very chirpy towards her fellow colleagues, joking away.
Let’s bring customer experience back to shops, please.

Just bought quite a few of lovely prunes at Food lovers Market in Kimberley. What a disappointment . The top half of the prunes are rotten and the rest of the prunes are not ripe at all. What a waste!
I find the bakery and butchery at this shop very good, but the fresh produce department is a horror. The fruit and vegetables are forever rotten or have several weeks to go before it is ripe.
Baie teleurgesteld hoender gekoop sweet chilli spice wat sleg was
I have only had horrible experiences in this Fruit and Veg. They do not do the franchise any justice. It is obvious that they have never seen what the foodlovermarket’s in gauteng area look like.
I once saw a mouse running in the meat area- it dissappeared under the fridge to the right of the biltong counter. The emplyees just looked at it as if it was an everyday occurance. I left without purchasing anything.
The fruit and veg I buy here don’t even last a week before they rot.
I bought six hamburger rolls and when I got home- only two were fresh and the other four were stale.
It is difficult to imagine that other consumers in kimberley accepts this standard of service delivery and produce that this business puts out.
Perhaps I should give a call to the health inspector.
The staff at the Kimberley store always seem tired and unfriendly, avoiding contact with patrons and as to be left alone and not bothered with questions.
