I went there to buy lunch and i was assisted by Zelda Hartzenberg ,her customer service is rotten to say the least and very unfriendly.
There are a lot of unemployed people that are unemployed so if you feel that being a cashier is not for you
then by all means make way for people that will do the job with a smile

I’m really sorry but got disappointing service ever. They opened all off the 6 pack tonic and I wanted a specific flavor they refused to charge me for a 6 pack that is R35 they wanted me to pay +-R60 and the manager gave off one shitty attitude.

I don’t agree with negative comments aired about checkers Newpark. I have always been treated with the utmost courtesy and respect. Some of the cashiers know me so well as I shop there 5-6 times a week that they will ask me how many packets of pall mall red and how many blue without me having to ask. They also know that I like my bread packed alone in a bag as I normally end up with the bread squashed if packed otherwise. Even the security at the door is most respectful and helpful. I understand that Checkers serve a high volume of customers on a daily basis and therefore take my hat off to them. Just one slight problem when looking for a manager when you need him/her to assist a cashier when you bought a marked down product, they take ages to come and most of the time are not friendly at all. Such a pity about the manager that was transferred to Shoprite, now he was brilliant and always ready to assist you in any way possible. Danielle that was transferred to Shoprite as well, now there is a cashier to be proud of as she is brilliant and always ready to assist you no matter what. Unfortunately I can’t remember all the cashiers’ names but please thank them on my behalf for the courtesy and respect they show me. Also, one more thing, I have been shopping for so many years at Checkers and put my cell number in at the end of my purchase, so why haven’t I won any groceries yet? Is it only a sales gimmick or true?
Ek wil net se hul telefoon etiket is pateties. Jy bel soontoe, dan wil jy graag iets uitvind. Die vrou wat die telefoon antwoord kan jy hoor het jog nie regtig wakker geword vandag nie. Dan sit sy jou na ‘n bestuurder toe deur. Die dien nie eens die moeite om die foon te antwoord nie. Checkers gee asb vir julle personeel due regte opleiding hoe om ‘n klient te hanteer. Dit is regtig pateties
I love Checkars. Yes, the service is not always up to standards, but that is the problem with all supermarkets. I stay with Checkars.
The staff at checkers new park are really unhelpful. Getting hold of the manager is a nightmare. All the staff there must be trained on customer service.
Hands down the worst shopping experience (and there are MANY in Kimberley)!!
Tellers who have yet to learn the concept of customer service, courtesy, etiquette and common hygiene. Scratching of the “weave” with nails/pens, then handling your food, no acknowledgement of customers and absolutely no product knowledge. I blame the owners/managers of these establishment for scraping the bottom of the barrel in an attempt to save on training costs and salaries!!!
I agree, tellers are a disgrace at the Diamond Mall Checkers. When you complain you first have to pull management away from their 4th lunch break and then they talk to you with pie on theirs lips and chin.
